A clean filter is the difference between an efficient, long-lasting machine and one that struggles to perform. If you are looking for advice on filter types and maintenance, we’re here to help! To maintain optimal performance, we recommend inspecting your dehumidifier’s filters at least once per year.
Let’s start with the PRE-FILTER. This filter comes standard on the WatchDog dehumidifiers. It is washable for extended use. This can be cleaned by using a vacuum or washed with warm water (no soap).
The MERV filter is what comes standard with the WatchDog dehumidifiers. This filter should be checked for replacement at least once a year and changed as needed.
The HEPA filter is an optional upgrade designed to replace the standard MERV-10 filter. Known for their efficiency, HEPA filters can capture some of the smallest air particles including dust, pollen, and mold which helps in maintaining cleaner air. It should be checked for replacement once a year.
The CARBON filter is an optional upgrade that replaces the standard MERV-10 filter. Designed for odor removal, the carbon filter helps eliminate unwanted smells. It should be inspected at least once per year and replaced as necessary.
