To keep your new NXT dehumidifier running smoothly, annual maintenance and regular cleaning go a long way. Cleaning the filters, coils, and drain will help avoid any issues down the road.
Pro Tip: Always turn off the dehumidifier and let it fully power down before you start any maintenance. It might take up to a minute for it to shut off completely.
How to Clean the Filters
Start by checking the filters for dirt or buildup. Depending on the type, you can either rinse them or replace them:
- Pre-Filter (standard): Just rinse with water.
- MERV-10 Filter (standard): Replace as needed.
- Carbon & HEPA Filters (optional): Replace as needed
Cleaning the Coils
Once the filters are good to go, it’s time to tackle the coils.
What You’ll Need:
- Self-Rinsing Foaming Coil Cleaner
How to Do It:
- Spray the coil cleaner on the coils. Cover the entire surface.
- Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- No need to rinse!
