Troubleshooting Tip: Why Isn’t My Dehumidifier Running?

If you notice your dehumidifier isn't running, don't panic—there may not be an issue at all. In many cases, the unit is simply doing its job by monitoring the environment.

Your dehumidifier is designed to operate only when the humidity level in your space is higher than the set point you have selected (or if the unit is set to "Continuous Mode"). If the humidity level in the space is currently below your target setting, the unit will not run because there is no excess moisture to remove.

We see this question most often during the winter months, when humidity levels tend to be naturally lower.

How to Check: Look at the power indicator light on the unit. If the light is flashing green, this indicates the unit is in standby mode. It is powered on and monitoring the air, but will only run once the humidity rises above your set point.
